Merlot
Was bouncing around on Autoebid and noticed £4k savings on 335 coupes. My spec for a Sport model was c£36k delivered or c£20k less than a new M3. What a price difference. Is the new M3 worth it?

encee
Merlot: I`ve only owned the 330d M-Sport edition of the "new" E92 model, and found it to be a superb car, so God only knows just how good the 335 coupe is. As a recent purchaser of an E46 M3, though, I would say that the M is entirely something else, and if you can comfortably afford the new M3, then I would say go for it...... Merlot
Thanks for the input. It wasn't really a personal question, just an observation on price differentials.
AudiPartner
Aye, I went for a blast in the 330d this morning (had to pick the dogs up - they are not getting in my car!). What a machine. Auto box, 3 litre derv - man that thing can shift, so much torque. And so smooth. I think that is the key - do you want raw M3 power, or do you want armchair comfortable non M3 power? I had a 330ci a little while back and the power delivery was so smooth it felt at times as quick as my M3 (also had an old E36 Evo at the time). The 330 was a joy, the M3 was a different sort of joy. And I suppose it depends on your mileage. If you plan on doing nearer 20k to 10k in a year I think I'd rather do it in a 335. If you're not doing masses of motring then the M3 has to be the better car. Hence the price.

Merlot
...a 997C2S? Seriously would it be roughly a straight swap financially?

Merlot
Sure, I meant that a used 997C2S would be worth about the same as a new M3.

Oli
Better residuals though and individuality with a 997 (One of my favorite cars by the way - can you tell )
