bunny hops

I wonder if anyone has found a cure for the bunny-hopping on their e46 m3.

Anyone tried a re-map or similar please?

I REALLY like the M3, but leaving work doing bunny impressions is having an effect on my reputation (more throttle is a cure, but passers-by think I am gunning for them!)

One suggestion is to cover the car in fur and go for the full effect, but I'm worried about infestation.

A bobble on the sat-nav fin makes a good tail, but I am sure the ears will fall off at motorway speeds.

All sensible advice gratefully received!

Thank you TSNers!

I'm afraid that is a feature' of the E46 M3 - the engine is highly tuned, and when cold can be a bit 'temperamental'...

No real cure except to be as gentle as you can with the throttle when the car is cold, and to avoid switching sport mode on until the car has warmed up.

If you have the problem at other times, i.e. not just first thing before the engine has warmed up, then that isn't normal and should be investigated by the dealer.

Sidicks

I never had much trouble with mine (compared to other people I spoke to), but I just put that down to being a superior driver..... FIREdevil.gif

Is yours SMG, or manual, mate ?

Only reason I ask, is that mine`s a manual, and I just don`t get this problem with it at all, so I was just wondering if it was particular to SMG only......?

I wonder if you dont get the problem Encee as your car is a later model? I have the Z4M, same engine and dont have this problem at all. Could BMW have ironed out the issue??

My CSL does it when cold and when sport is on, but I simply lift off and it goes away. I rarely get it to be honest, so it's not an issue for me personally, I must be a driving God like Sidicks!! grin.gif

If it's a real problem, keep sport off for the first mile or two and go easy with the gas. 169144-ok.gif

Same. The other way to cure it is to shift up a gear quick. 169144-ok.gif
