scooby_simon
Right due to a bit of an Uber feck up(not mine I might add); next years lunacy at Easter in La Plagne and Les Arcs might have gone I'm in need of a company who can do one of the Uber resorts with a good spread of skiing (So Verbier is probably out) and good facilities for kids. Tignes Val D Avoriaz (maybe) Val T (Maybe) St. Anton La Plagne And others, but looking for something that will keep me (and 2 others of similar skills - so it could get silly) plus kids and a few intermediate skiiers. Others budgets preclude the states. I'm planning to try Esprit, Total Ski (Esprit parent) but I am not sure on their child care, Thomson, Crystal, Mark Warner anyone else got any suggestions ? Anyone with even the smallest idea please let me know - it is currently looking like we won't be skiing next Easter.
Jez
Been with Mark Warner to St Anton, their childcare seemed good but It was just me and the missus, out of the one's you mention they were the best, Crystal left us in Courchevel one year as they 'forgot' to pick us up Been with Ski world a few times and they were pretty good for chalets. Good luck
Arch
Try Skiworld, they have a huge selection of Chalets across all the resorts. Other than that, if I can remember the names of some friends in/near Bourg, I'll point you to their website, their chalet was really nice. [/ QUOTE ] I went to Tignes this year with my 16 month old (at the time) son with Esprit and the child care was brilliant. He looked forward to going to Nursery everyday. It was my first time skiing since my son was born, but there were loads of parents that had been lots of times with Espirt. First class service - I would well recommend them They also have some great looking places in Plan Pesiey that have hot tubs on your balcony? How old are your kids? Arch
http://www.vanillaski.com - Sam & Andy's chalet. Probably not a lot of use considering your childcare requirements after I re-read your post.
Rachel
You might be surprised at how far your budget may stretch actually. It's not Europe, and it is ski only (no boarding last time i was there), BUT it is super kid friendly... ...Taos New Mexico. Stay at the Rio Hondo Condo. khutula
I stayed in the Terril Blanc in Tignes. You know how it is in France it wasn't very plush - but the nursery was just across the road. The Spritlets enjoyed themselves. The Lavachey is closer to the Aeroski and Palafour. If we go again next year I will definitely go with Espirt. scooby_simon
Anyone skiied in Meribel recently ? bazza_g
[ QUOTE ] Anyone skiied in Meribel recently ? [/ QUOTE ] Our group did Meribel March 2005 - was pretty good from what I remember. We had some newbie boarders with us so it was a 50/50 split between them and us 'proper' skiers We all had a bonza time, slap bang in the middle of the 3 valleys so plenty of choice Just don't get a chalet on the main road through Meribel as the boozy people (us) walk up and down it from Dicks Tea Bar

bazza_g
We were in chalet Sandy which was on the main road through Meribel, about half way between the main lifts and Dicks. Luckily the bus went from just outside the chalet. If you can ski back to the chalet and the end of the day I wouldn't let a 10min bus trip put you off

scooby_simon
feck it, we just booked for the week before easter. Very lucky I would say as this Chalet just came onto the Esprit Books. Speaking to the Esprit people, it looks like they may have mis-priced it (or at least some of the suppliements; if anyone is interested I'd suggest getting on the Phone PDQ on Monday. scooby_simon
Bazza (or anyone) detailed map here (PDF) The blurb from the brochure ways it is next to the ‘Rondpoint’ area / intersection. Can anyone tell me exactly where this is. My GUESS is that is is somewhere to the left below the "MERIBEL MOTTARET 175O" on the above map. Can anyone confirm ? skifly
the rondpoint is a bar just up the left side of the resort. You can ski in there during the afternoon, then head on down to the bottom of the resort after a few toffee vodkas in the dark which is pretty good fun - esp if the cannons are on. Probably not a bad place for a chalet.
