Oatz
Although I realise the laser part of a detector is near to useless (only confirms you have been had) my question is, does anyone know of an integrated GPS system with radar (this is what I'm really after) & laser detection all in one? I currently have a Bell 550 which is fantastic but I am not covered for Trevelo and also SPECS. I realise I could simply buy a microgo and run this alongside but don't really want all the clutter on my dashboard. Plus I only have a small part of the window that is not UV protected (Renault jobby) Many thanks in advance
gizze
If you bought a Roadpilot you would just use their laser add on though, you wouldn't run both.
Oatz
The trouble with a roadpilot is it does not tell you whether a gatso is live or not - ie last week, driving around the M25 my Bell informed me () which gantries had live cameras and which didn't. The trouble with GPS systems is they only rely on being up to date etc and I perceive them as being more fallible than my trusty Bell hence why I'm ideally looking for a radar and GPS integrated system, not so bothered about the laser side of things (that's what parking sensors aare for)
JaredCarter
I haven't seen a sat-nav device with radar detection. Since they are illegal in some states, I'd imagine a device with both GPS and radar might be hard to find? Most GPS systems have POIs that point out speed cameras at intersections. I'm pretty sure Tele Atlas includes these in their maps, which is useful.
Oatz
Think I've found a solution, anyone know anything about these and it also states that it supports jammers (how does that work then?) web page
gizze
If I were to start over I would get the Cheetah GPS mirror.... http://www.speedcheetah.com/scshop/section.php?xSec=24 and a laser jammer, you are totally covered then, on the gps mirror you can turn off alerts under a certain speed, so round town you don't get any warnings, and it should let you know when a unit is live as the laser detector is built into the mirror.
