When is the best time to buy from the Dealer?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering when the best time to buy from a dealer is, Is it the end of the month, end of the year or end of the financial year, I'm not sure if it makes any difference but I have heard people talking about times when the dealer is trying to make his sales figures look good so he may offer a good deal,

I'm looking for a TDI jetta, either brand new or a year or two old,

You need to decide whether you want a new car or a second-hand car first.

Regardless of your pitch, a (well trained) dealer sales exec will tell you that it makes no difference whether you buy at either end of the month.

If you want best price on a new car, try buying in July for delivery in August, when the month is typically slower and before the new reg comes in. Buy in September if you want second hand, as the dealers will typically have more stock after the new 57 reg has kicked in.
