Just been quoted by Poole Audi £1,170 for service (oil, pollen and fuel filter) Cambelt and waterpump, and Aircon service. Luckily I was sat down when they told me. Is this normal for a 52 plate, 2.5tdi Avant Sport? Must say so far I have not had a service for under £500 yet. I did point out that it wasn't a Bentley but an Audi, which he did not find funny. shocked.gif

I know this wont help a huge amount but took my other half's Mazda 6 to Kwik fit on Saturday. They have a special offer on aircon rechargin. Dealer wanted £135 for the Mazda and Kiwk Fit did it for £44. They run a full system pressure & leak test first and the machine tells them if they can recharge it etc. If they cant they dont charge you.

It hasnt been working in her Mazda for 12 months and it perfect now smile.gif

I agree they can be bad, but so can Audi etc etc. I am not normally a fan of Kwik Fit but they have just all been trained on the aircon charging and the guy was brilliant.

They had so many to do and their computers crashed that when I went to collect the car at 5pm , when the close he had only just started it The others left but he apologised and said he would stay on without a problem and get it done, I watched him at work for 35 mins and all done.

Jimmy, I took mine to Yeovil audi to get the very same job done, they were more open to reducing the prices, especially to beat Poole Audi!

They even collected mine FOC and dropped off the courtesy car. Maybe worth a try!

The trouble with the 2.5 it would appear that they have to take a lot of bits off to get to the cambelt apparently.

I'd take it elsewhere.

Its hardly an RS6 ffs.

If its out of warranty whats the point of going to an audi dealer - their prices/rates for servicing are ridiculous.

Williams Automotive in Ferndown (German Car specialists and use genuine parts) have given me the following prices -

Sevice (Oil, and all filters) £214.89 exc Vat

Cambelt + Water Pump - 459.25 exc Vat

Aircon Service (change all seals, empty gas, regas and oil) £80

Total £886 inc Vat saving on Poole Audi of £287 What do you think, should I go back to Poole Audi and see if they can match, or am I likely to get it for the same price but they won't do it properly. Does £886 seem reasonable to you?
