BenjaminTDI
Anyone know how this part comes out? I have a bloody DREADFUL rattle that I can hear at all speeds, all radio volumes and it is driving me nuts. Would appreciate if one of you could share your wisdom as to how to remove this part! Cheers Ben
timps
On the air vent in front of the speaker there is a sunlight photosensor sticking up in the middle of the vent. * Carefully pries off the cover around this photosensor. * Under the cover is a screw for the photosensor, remove this screw and the photosensor itself. * Once the photosensor is removed it reveals another screw for the vent and speaker grille. * remove the screw vent & grille

jayo
Hi, Did you manage to get this problem sorted? I also have a *very* annoying rattle/vibration which seems to be coming from the same area. I removed the vent grille as described but couldn't really see anything in there apart from the speaker and the vent duct? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is starting to drive me nuts! Cheers, J
Phantom
If this doesn't solve the rattle problem, I had something similar and I spent weeks trying to track down where the rattle was coming from. I found that the push button switches controlling the map reading lights in the roof console were 'sticking', causing the plastic parts of the switch to rub against each other. All I have been doing is just pushing the buttons in and out quickly and this seems to cure this particular rattle. I am not going to go to the hassle of changing the switches, well not just yet

TDiAvant
I've had this problem before on my S4. my rattle was behind the dash clocks, but as the car was under warranty I let the dealer sort it out.

[/ QUOTE ] damn, my warranty's out! I guess I'll remove the trim from the foot well area under the clocks and and take a peek...might be just a screw that needs to be tightened or something? timps
My clutch peddle switch self destructed (common problem) it launched the end cap and spring into the dash area. The spring was vibrating against a metal bracket not very loud but noticeable. So its worth checking you still have end caps on your switches.
