Bluedan
Does anyone else have this problem? On my climate control, I only ever use it in the region between "Lo" and about "21" as anything above this is just hot. In the middle of winter I may push it up a bit, but most of the time its on about 18! This doesn't seem to make sense as the scale goes from about 18 up to 29, so I would imagine that at about 23, 24 would be ambient, less than this then cooler air would come out and more than this warmer air would come out (depending on the outside temp of course). My partners A3 with climate is comfortable at around low-mid 20's, but mine would be red hot! Any ideas? Oh, by the way I've recently had it regassed and leak checked. cabboy
I hope I'm not going to offend, but you haven't got the 'econ' switch on have you ? CB
TDiAvant
Your compressor could be on the way out
Bluedan
No, 'econ' switch is def not on! And just had the system looked at by AirCon specialists, but I didn't mention this to them, they just leak tested and regassed it.
eolair
how much is a compressor replacement?
imran999
mines sometimes blows out hot air at low temp such as 19, so what i do, is set it to low and then back up to 19 and voila, cold air.
Bluedan
Will try that, but could it be the air temp sensors? Or worse the climate unit itself?
TheSaint
Mine does the same - it's not a problem. If you think about it, 18 degrees is actually quite warm - it's the average temp for May. I'm a winter person anyway so it's always blowing on Lo but I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Bluedan
Yeah I'd thought about that, and the outside temp was 16 degrees the other morning and I had it on 18, so the car was trying to raise the interior by 2 degrees, its just a bit strange, I think in some ways I prefer the old dial controls, hot fading to cold!!!
