lesK
Well Dansky I know how you feel! A couple of months ago I found out my g/f was seeing someone she works with. You are a better man than me though,I wasn't going to try to save our relatinoship.I think if you can't trust them it's time to move on. I stayed there without saying anything until I had completed on buying a house. I now live on my own and haven't said a word to her in 3 days and counting! Roll on the good times

Rustynuts
That method has some style to it, mate. Very good.
Mattchaps
I think we all have different ways in which we want to deal with these things. And, I guess it also depends on how the relationship has been since the start At the end of the day there are only 2 options we have... stay or go. Good luck mate, seems you have got it sorted with the new house and all
RedRobin
I'm with you on this one, les51 - Trust is all important in every relationship imo and if you were to continue living under the same roof it could really twist the knife in your gut regarding how you feel. lesK
Thanks guys, it was 20 years this year! Just goes to show you think you know these people, but do you really?
RedRobin
....Mine was 20 years too! Some people are very open with their character and you do know them very well, although you never know anyone 100% I don't reckon. Others just don't have the ability to be open. You'll probably hate your now ex gf for a while and it's part of how you protect your own feelings and is very natural. In time you'll get over it and won't hate her (which is healthier and calmer for you) but you'll never trust her and so any friendship with her will always be limited. Not all women are untrustworthy though. A couple of years from now, or a truly good lady in your life, whichever comes first, and you'll just think of it as just one chapter in your life and you'll have learnt something from it to bring to other relationships. We are all different and it isn't compulsory to even have a gf.
Soulboy
Beat you! mine was 21 years! It will take you a while to get your confidence back - and being single feels really strange - but just remember one thing. Loads of women out there to get stuck into now - who is going to be the first to get some lurrrrve. This may sound shallow........but its true
RedRobin
4 years later and still being single doesn't feel strange at all. In fact it felt fine within months and I wouldn't want to live in a relationship with anyone again. But, as you say, self-confidence is what takes the biggest hit initially.
