dgl
Hi I have just downloaded and am running the new Windows browser from Apple "Safari". It seems to work amazingly fast, much better than IE. Anyone else tried this yet?
GARTHY
Just downloaded it - does seem very quick tho.

Jon
I just installed it and initial impressions are good. Will see how it goes. Jon.
sufu
It's not secure though, I'm not suggesting IE is bulletproof, but from what I hear Safari has a few holes that are exploitable that IE doesn't. It's also a memory hog, but what isn't these days?!? I'm off to download it now and see if all the PC blogs are just talking rubbish... dgl
Yep, been using it for an hour now - much quicker and no problems as yet...... "safari - so goody!"
sufu
It's smooth, and looks polished, but you can only resize a window from the bottom right... stupid little things like that bug me Otherwise I'm impressed, glad to see it's only a beta, things can only get better from here on. Sparky
Downloaded it, but not overly impressed. It's quick, which is good, but it's consuming a lot of RAM and CPU time. As it's a beta hopefully they'll iron these issues out.
Ritey
The download currently does crash out a lot, supposed to work fine in the US, expect an update soon
Chav
[ QUOTE ] The download currently does crash out a lot, supposed to work fine in the US, expect an update soon [/ QUOTE ] well if it works fine in the US, why not everywhere else? Ritey
Something to do with regional settings of Windows messing things up, think 99% of people won't notice anything. I've had no problems on mine so far, apart from the odd memory leak

Snail
[ QUOTE ] Welcome to the world of Windows Apple [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, put a program on a mass market system, and someone will try and hack it. Theres no point in hacking Macs. No fecker uses them
Rachel
My personal opinion is that it is a brilliant strategy as, like iTunes (which will be used to "sync" it), Safari on Windows is to lure developers to the AJAX compliant browser to build applications for the iPhone.
