Another Sky question - Multiroom

Finally went for sky plus the other day as they are not charging the tenner a month for it as from the 1st of July. Althought they are still charging for multiroom, when the engineer turns up what would he need to enable multiroom ( apart from a back hander ) on my dish, am I right in saying he will be fitting a double LNB onto my dish for the sky plus and to enable multiroom he would need to fit a triple/quad LNB right??

Im just thinking if I can get a quad LNB and cross his palm with silver he might fit it and enable me to have multiroom.

Any help or advice is mucho appreciatted as always

Just signed up for the plus not the multiroom as its still a tenner a month and Im super tight and to be fair cant really justify it but if i can get it on the cheap....does that make sense?

If its gonna be a quad anyway then all he'll have to do is run an extra cable off of it for me and cash may not have to change hands.

You can ask the engineer to just run a third cable (2 needed for sky+) form the LNB the right length to where you would want to place the second sky box. He shouldn't really need to charge you for the cable but keep him supplied with a nice cuppa coffee.gif

Sky will give you a duplicate card for £10 a month (multiroom).

You can always phone Sky and ask them for a freesat viewing card which costs £20 for 3 years.

You will be able to use your spare box with this card allthough it is pretty limited to what channels you can receive.

We have a similar arrangement, full sky in the living room and my den, and an old box with the freeview card in our bedroom. That one shows all the ITV & BBC channels, channels 4 & 5, Men & Motors and about half the free movie channels (all the REALLY rubbish ones LOL), plus some other channels that I've never watched.
