Tarmac_Terrorist
Hi, has anyone out there any experience of this model. In terms of spec and price, it stacks up nicely. Looking to go for the bluetooth adapter too. Any thoughts / comments appreciated. Also, do I need to go for the canbus for improved nav accuracy (bearing in mind the car only does 4k miles per year and not too much city centre stuff)? Tarmac_Terrorist
Nope? OK, well I've arranged for one to be fitted next weekend. I'll be the guinnea pig then
gizze
I have heard mixed reports about it. The Pioneer AVIC-D3 is getting all the rave reviews at the minute. http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/10/20/241/AVIC-D3BTi/index.html You can set the colours to match your car too, both the leds on the buttons and the colour for the menus etc. Has Bluetooth and ipod connectivity as well and can be had for around £750. Tarmac_Terrorist
Thanks gizze, it was a close call for me between the two models. The Pioneer seems to have the better nav system overall and has TMP built in too I understand. The two things which swung it for the Kenwood was that I can add on POI's (speed cam database etc) via an SD card. Also, I'm not having a seperate CD/DVD stack system so I would need to keep removing the NAV dvd on the Pioneer and I was concerned it could get damaged. Cheers for the pic - looks a nice flush fitting in that MKV
gizze
I guess with the Kenwood it has red and blue illumination which is what the Golf has anyway, being a BMW person that would annoy me, I would want it amber. Post up pics when you have it fitted mate.
Tarmac_Terrorist
All fitted and working well. Not had much chance to really play with the unit but so far I'm confident I've made the right choice...
