tribs
Would CG EZ creme glaze and Jetseal 109 be a good choice for looks and protection on a brand new white car? White Golf GTI to be precise. If not what would be good alternatives? Also has anyone used the CG Fabric Protection? Cheers
drpellypo
Yip - the paint is effectively the same as any other colour. I've give it a clay - then stick the ez on and the 109 on top.
tribs
Cheers doc. I'll give it a go. Just have to wait for the car to arrive now in 5 months!! I may try it on the missus' car in the meantime. Any idea of how many applications you can get from one bottle? Also keep us posted about durability. drpellypo
If you do the wife's car make sure you strip everything else off. I've found jetseal to be really fussy what it bonds to. I degreased the car, then clayed, then put CG All in One on, then jetseal on that, and it bonded lovely. No use asking me questions about durability. I live on the sea front, and the salt knackers any products I put on the car. I'm lucky if I get a week of beading!
alexc
As an alternative I would highly recommend Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant on light cars, the finish it gives is absolutely excellent and it offers proven durability seeing as it's been around for a while now. bpsmith
Totally agree with the above advice from Alex! I have been using Wolfgang Sealant for over a year now and it rocks! The Pre Wax Polish Enhancer is also very good prior to using the Sealant. You wont be dissapointed with the finish for sure!
tribs
I've heard the Wolfgang DG Sealant is excellent. Someone on Detailing World is doing a side by side with Jetseal on the roof of his van. I will be following this with interest. Is the Wolfgang stuff as effective as the jetseal on other surfaces such as wheels, trim and even glass!?
bpsmith
I cant say I have used it on any unpainted surface, to be honest, but have heard quite a lot of people saying it is awesome on glass. I used Carplan Nanomeric on the missus' A2 about 10 months back and it still beads brilliantly and dont use the wipers at all over 40mph! I am hoping to give my newly purchased Golf a full detail over the next few months and so will give the Wolfgang Sealant a blast on there and let you know how they compare! Ok, different cars but should get a comparison of some sort. Would have thought that it would work the same on wheels as on the paint, assuming they are painted ;-), but temperature change may be an issue possibly but that would be the same for all sealants on wheels? As far as trim is concerned, the WG Sealant leaves no mess or marks behind on the surface and is detailed as being safe to use on trims so would have thought it would be as good as on the paint but again not tried.
