scooby_simon
Just wondering about this: So my lappy has a TV card in it. It's registered to my home address and so my home TV licence covers it. What happens if I use my Laptop at another location which does not have a licence or in the middle of a field at a sailing event. Yes, most clubs will have a TV and so a licence. Just wondering what the SP is on this. Sure the TV detector vans will not be snooping around sailing clubs, but anyone know what the definitive answer is ? steve2
i believe that you will be taken to one of her Majestys finest hotels and be rogered silly on a less serious note as you have a valid licence you should be ok, check on their website Do I need a licence? You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, set-top boxes, video or DVD recorders, computers or mobile phones to watch or record TV programmes as they are being shown on TV. If you use a set-top box with a hi-fi system or another device that can only be used to produce sounds and can't display TV programmes, and you don't install or use any other TV receiving equipment, you don't need a TV Licence.
