Mook
A friend's PC has got a constant pop-up on it that just won't go away. 10 minutes after the PC has been started up, a browser window launches, asking for payment to a company called "Micro Billing Systems". When you close the window, it immediately re-opens and stays there for 10 minutes. He swears blind he's never visited a dodgy web site and has no idea where the hell it's come from. The HTML file and images are in c:/program files/microsoft office/templates - the HTML file name is always a load of jumbled up letters, e.g. kjghaDstaWdzp.htm Norton is fully up to date and hasn't found anything. I suggested he download Spybot Search and Destroy - which found a dodgy entry in the registry and removed it. When the computer was restarted, the feckin thing came back again. Any ideas as to how to get rid of this thing would be really appreciated.
CarMad
Try Ad-aware as well, it often looks at different things from spybot. I always run both to get rid of things. See how that goes.
