Laptop DVD Writer Question

I have just inherited my Boss's old laptop which is very nice - but I wanted to ask some advice from the experts out there !

The Laptop has been "cleaned" of any work items and is in full working order - it does have a CD drive with the words CD writer and DVD / RW - does this mean that this drive can write DVD's and CD's ?

Seems like a silly question , but I don't seem to have any software to write DVD's. The Laptop will play DVD's fine , and I have installed Windows Media Player 11 - so it plays and writes CD's great.

Is it just a matter of installing DVD writer software to let me burn DVD's ?

(Laptop is 3 years old - Toshiba Satelite)

Any help would be appreciated)

If it has DVD/RW on the side, it can burn DVD's and CD's!!

You need some DVD burning software as windows doesn't have any support for this. Defo not XP anyhooo not sure about Vista.

If you don't have any software for burning, try Deepburner it's free and does what it says on the tin.
