RReflections
I normally only recommend machining a car once a year. If you have access to a paint thickness gauge then that will help you know how much paint you have on the car and also how much is being removed. Most new cars have between 50 and 70 microns of clear coat, on average most de-swirls will remove 5mu (microns) so in theory you can machine the car 10 times in total, before there's none left. BUT I say in theory as unless you measure very square inch/cm there could be a low spot and so less clear coat. I would also due to this only suggest going down to a max of 50% clear coat as below this there can be slight changes in the way light is refracted. If once machined and fully deswirled the correct wash methods are used then returning swirls are going to be limited and also a lot lighter, due to this you should also then find that you'd only need to remove a couple of mu to bring it back, thus increasing the number of times it can be machined. If you can follow this well done, I know what I mean but its not always easy to put into text, hope it helps a little.

drpellypo
I was thinking that, but I'm hardly in a position to correct with my usertitle.
