R4V_S3
Yet ANOTHER problem with my car.. So i indicate (left or right) it flashes maybe once or twice then stops.. that referes to the lights outside & inside! Hazards work fine.. Is this a relay? where are the relays in the 8L S3? Thanks! shark_90
I might be wrong but I think the relay is inside the hazard light switch, could be worth swapping it out for the few quid it'll cost.
R4V_S3
Someone else mentioned it might be behind the hazard switch.. i am a little confused if that is the case.. how does the hazard still work?
MGquattro
Yep I agree with Sharki-90 above... the wife's A3 8L would flash once or twice and stop, it didn't seem to matter which side was selected. Changed the Hazzard switch which also houses the indicator relays and all was well. Seems to be a common problem. Easy enough to change. R4V_S3
Great! Thanks, so are they sold as the hazard switch and relay combined? Any advice for taking off the panel safely so i don't scratch the piano black?
MGquattro
Yep One mulit plug behind the hazzard switch. Cant remember how I removed the switch but there was a previous post about it . I think is just unclips but cant remember wheather the cup holder had to come off first. Sorry Mike

Paul
they are £28.26 + Vat for my 2003 S3 Part Number 8L0941509L I had to drop my sat nav out, pop off the piano trim, (just clips in and is quite hardy, i think its moulded onto a metal frame as its prety rigid, then It was a matted of releasing the entire hazard light switch out, with a little help from a terminal screwdriver. The new switch will tell you where you have to aim for, as your be able to see the clips in question. I changed mine last week as i was getting erratic blinks and the odd stutter in either direction. Havent had a problem since.
R4V_S3
Paul do you think i will have to drop my symphony II out??
Booster
I had this on my old 1.8TQ and the Audi Roadside guy popped off the trim surrounding it with a screwdriver when the cup holder was in the "out" position IIRC. Literally a one minute job.
R4V_S3
Excellent, will pick up the relay tomorrow! Cheers
Paul
I would personally drop the Symphony II out, as it gives you clear sight and good purchase onto the piano trim without the need for tools to scratch it.
