bazep
Hi - NooB here. Hoping someone can help my save a heap of money on repairs. Got passed on to this site by a pal of mine in the know. I have a major problem with my beloved A4 (1.8T Sport). Was driving along the motorway on Friday night and the car just completetly died on me - flashing lights all over the dash - Not good. Long and short of it is that there had been a partial siezure of the water pump leading to the shearing of the Cam belt (don't know how much damage this has done to the engine yet). I had taken up the issue with Audi as I had originally been told (by my local indy mechanic)that it was a broken cambelt and this should be covered by Audi. Now it appears that this was a problem with the Water pump not the cam belt. Where do i stand? Should Audi pick up the tab for this? The car has done 60k, regularly serviced by Audi (was last serviced two months ago!). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Baz
TDiAvant
Go to your dealer and tell them what happend, and see if you can get a big discount, if you don't get any joy with them contact Audi customer services. O and Welcome to TSN

allroadman
The honest answer is that the dealer can't deal with the issue directly unless you had extended warranty. Once the car is out of age, the warranty isn t covered irrspective of the mileage. If you have a full Audi service history the dealer/ Audi customer services will take into account this and normally should offer you some sort of good will, which will normally cover all the cost of the labour or parts, or might ask you to pay a percentage. This isnt the centres problem, as if they did the work un-authorised they would not get paid.
