Ben
A few of you have been on the hunt for 996's, just wondering if anyone has parted with their hard-earned yet, and what they've bought

Wallachie
Not yet dude, the one I'm waiting to test drive has still not arrived back from the dealer - it's been in getting a new sensor for the rear spoiler which has been on back order. I'll know more after my test drive, as I've only ever been a passenger in one.

Wallachie
Test drove a black 996 TT today, 2003 with 53k on the clock (which I must admit is sort of putting me off!), it's for sale in a private dealers, just been in to Porsche Belfast and apparently had £4k spent on it. New tyres all round (P Zeros), new brakes all round, 4 wheels refurbed and a couple of other things (airbag light on and spoiler sensor replaced). He won't accept less than about £47.5 or £48k for it. Not sure what to do, seems a lot for a car with that mileage. It has a great spec though (second one down): http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/car...rch_full=SEARCH Ridiculously fast car, sounded quiet but nice at the same time, amazing grip, not firm but still not too soft. Quite a lot of wind noise up around 100(kph!) and I'm sure there were a few rattles around the cabin that I didn't like. Here are some pics:
flnutt
Looking good. But if your not sure about it i would wait for another to come along, seems imo u can get a better year mileage for better money.

Wallachie
[ QUOTE ] More fun than the CSL? [/ QUOTE ] It's totally different than the CSL, it's quieter, smoother, faster but it felt a lot less 'connected' than the CSL. You can really feel all the weight at the back, and very light at the front..... For every day use though, it's a more relaxing place to be. I just can't figure out if I need 'relaxing!' Woppum
I prefure the excitment. If I want to relax I can think of better ways to do it!
Ben
Nice but pricey. Leave it for a while and see if it sells, if not then offer him something more sensible if you want it. I've just done a 450 mile round trip in the Turbo and it fecking rocks. 30MPG too!

I would feel much happier buying from a Porsche dealer.

Ben
Mine's 02 and it has BOSE - it's just an option for those years. John's is a MY02 car anyway IIRC. To be fair, the BOSE is not what you'd call detailed anyway - the 987/997's are better. Remember that the dealers buy in privatly also, I've seen a few cars on the Porsche site that have been advertised privately - a GT3 that I was looking at is now in Swindon at nearly £10k more than I could have possibly had it for! £10k for a wash and warranty is a bit pricey in my book
Biscuits
I recon I've got another 12 months tops before a TT get's one over on the bank manager... just can't QUITE justify doing it this year... Still very happy with my C2 though...
