swhurst
Is this a good price? New unreg 2.0tdi 170 Sline, metallic paint, armrest and cruise control, UK car, £21262, on the road 6 months tax Or can anyone recommend anywhere to beat this? Does anyone know how non metallic paint affects residuals? Last question (for now anyway) can anyone tell me the difference between brilliant red, garnet red or misano red? I hate paying for metallic paint what a complete rip off. Definately last question, I read today in a car mag that the A3 is to be face lifted in 2008, is this true and will it have much effect on a 2007 model. d3fy
brilliant red = flat misano red = pearl (only on Sline and S cars I think) Prices, you should be able to get 10% off (haggle with the stealers) list price, so work it out from what the Audi prices are. I would not buy a car in this day and age with flat paint, but that is just my opinion
edo
Give Alistair Lee at Stratford Audi a call, he is offering good discounts at the moment... Tell him Ed sent you. I'm with you on metalic, although I think brilliant red can look a bit cheap (IMHO). I prefer Brilliant black to metalic black myself... especially at a 500 saving. Colmartin
I'm with you on the Black, the non metalic looks stunning!
swhurst
So to avoid paying for metallic are we saying brilliant black is the safest bet
Alastair_A3
Doesnt flat paint scratch more easily? On the more expensive cars mettalic paint is a must imo
edo
Not in my experience. I got some wax on my A3 as soon as I got it, and after 5000 miles and 3 months a quick wash leaves it looking as good as the day I got it. The trick is a regular wash with top quality products and regularly washed/new wash mits etc. The chap I bought my Exige from last week thought the A3 was a week old and I hadnt washed it for a week. Out of the "free" colours, Brilliant black is the best for the A3/A4 etc. I would not say metalic balck would make a blind bit of difference at resale. "Flat" non metalics dont sratch any more easily they all have a clear coat - metalic just hides it a bit more..
