Cheers - everyone seems to love the colour. Have to admit it is pretty destinctive and slightly more exclusive as VW stopped doing it just after mine was made. I remember a few people on here being a bit annoyed as they had orders down for that colour!

Think VW did it with the Deep Blue Pearl that was on the R32 aswell.

It will probably be back at some point, maybe on the Mk6, as VW have a habit of changing their colours regularly.

ok - price drop time... I must have been a little over eager with the pricing on the car as there has been a fair bit of interest, but no-one has bitten yet with a realistic offer.

The porky is waiting for me now so happy to consider a bit less for the car if it is to go to a good home. Simply a game of beat the offers on the table now... wink.gif

i am taking the car to the dealer to confirm their price today, but if someone offered close to £16k I would accept.

Why are there so many fecking stupid timewasters at the moment. Had quite a few "firm" offers and will "bring cash when looking at vehicle" and a few no-shows so far. Fecking to$$ers all of them.

Only one person has been good enough to at least say thanks and that they have put a deposit down on a Grey GTI. 169144-ok.gif

I have to admit I am a great fan of the Golf's and not sure if i am doing the right thing with the swop to the Boxster S, esp as i am sitting here in SE london watching a mother of a storm that is busy trying to catch up with an escaped northerner!

As for getting rid of the car I am a bit gutted as I just called the dealership to say I will drop the car off on thursday only to be told that 1, they will not give me the cheque until the V5 turns up, despite them agreeing it wasnt a problem as the current plate is heading onto retention, and 2, worst of all they have revised their offer down. So i am now about to pretty much give my car away for £15,200. To say i am pissed after they agreed a price in principle of more than that, is an understatement.

yup - not had that much of a decent response... couple of calls about 'matching' me with sellers that people have on their books and the rest were either stupid offers or asking really stupid questions that showed they dont even know what the car is!!

I picked up my Golf today smile.gif I ended up borrowing a little more and getting one with dsg, all I can say is holyshitgoddamn !! I love it. Bit of a kick in the nuts off the dealer tho... you know they're gonna make 2k on that! Should stick it on ebay, see what happens. I had my anniversary for sale on autotrader, adtrader, pistonheads and had little response, put it on ebay and sold it... actually sold outside of ebay, but thats where they saw it advertised! Worth a punt... good luck

Sold - took it in today, heard it had sold within an hour.

Well unhappy it has gone. Did get a little more out of it than expected, but not enough to make me happier about it. Roll on picking up the boxster s tomorrow.

Denison ice link for iPod into a regular golf stereo is going for sale soon though...

At least you can have a bit of fun now in the Porsche... I wanted to ask you if you dont mind... the golf I bought has got a cd player in dash, 6 disk in arm rest and a denison ipod connector in the glove box... the 6 cd changer doesnt work, am I right to assume that the ipod adapter is plugged into the slot that the changer usually plugs into? therefore, making the 6 disk changer useless?? - Thats the only thing I can think it could be. Also, is that parrot bluetooth thingy worth getting and how easy is it to install? will it work alongside the ipod or is it either/or like the ipod/changer? how do u get the stereo out? much appriciated, chris

The porka is awesome! Well impressed so far.

as for your questions - the changer has been unplugged for the denison. You cant use both due to the adapter.

The parrot is very good to get and well worth it for the safety aspect alone. Its actually more convenient than getting your phone out of your pocket!!

I do happen to have the autoleads adapter lead for the CK3100 system going spare now as i stripped the kit out of my car before it went.

As for fitting. Its more fiddly and anooying more than anything. There are pretty good instructions on the net for taking the dash apart and we can point you in the right direction if necessary.

You can use the denison and the parrot together with no issues.

  • 2 weeks later...

HI Mate,

I've just bought a Golf MK5 GT TDi (2004 54) and am looking for a Dension kit for it (and possibly a Parrot bluetooth kit as well!). Are you selling yours second hand, and if so, how much would you want for them?

I sold my MK5 GTi yesterday, as the car wasn't getting used due to cycling to new place of work + when I do long distance, I would prefer diesel economy...

Many Thanks, Rob
