R32Geordie
The car was Zymol waxed about 2 months ago and still beads water like it was just applied when it rains or when it's washed. I want to clay the car for the 1st time soon. Is it best to clay on body panels without wax ? If so, what's best to strip the wax and start from scratch? Cheers folks
drpellypo
The clay will remove the wax but you could look at using a a TFR, or a degreaser such as virosol.
alexc
The claying will remove it, make sure you use plenty of QD and fold the clay regularly.
mb
Would washing up liquid not be a good wax remover as it specifically cuts grease ?
drpellypo
Yeah - but it cuts the surface of your paint too. It's not by any means classed as 'paintwork safe.'
