Had my my iv R for about a month now, Somtimes in second gear it would be a little sluggish. I read a post on the ecu update so i went to vw and my car had not had it done. 20 mins later i left with the 6364 update and it has improved a hell of alot, Alot more responsive on the acceleration. jump.gif

The 6463 update is supposed to take the standard power output from 237bhp to between 245 and 247bhp 169144-ok.gif

BTW, you don't have to declare this to your insurance company, because it is a standard manufacturer's software update, not a remap.

I did tell them that the update should of been done when it was under warrenty with the previous owner. After the discussion started to get a bit heated they let me have it for half the price. £37.00 + vat = £43.48 I paid £21.74 which i was happy with. After the drive home i was so glad to of had it done

You've paid your money now, but that is very, very cheeky on the part of the dealer.

The 6463 update fixed a specific, known problem on the Mk4 R32 - all dealers received the internal communication and were told update all ECUs on all R32s when they came in for maintenance of a service.

Despite your having spent your money, I'm pleased that you're enjoying the car more.

Now all you need to do is start modifying it to make it go faster... tongue.gif

Glad you are enjoying it. It does completely transform the car. ECLIPSe.gif

I think you should name the dealer. As Mook says, that is out of order, when they should do it as a matter of course as advised by VW UK.

Now all you need to do is send the receipt to VW MK HQ and ask for a full refund 169144-ok.gif
