sapphire1616
I have a 2002 S8 and have for the recent months made a point of filling up with super unleaded. It does seem smoother since I stopped putting normal unleaded in. Am I wasting my money and would I be just as well off using normal unleaded? Ska
I think most of us like the Shell V power (Optimax) stuff its 98ron and makes a noticable difference to your performance and pocket these days. I only ever top up with norm unleaded if I'm deperate
Figure11
[smug Mode] I only pay about 44p a litre..... See Sig. And if you chase me I press a button and go faster (only super unleaded tho) [/smug mode]

NickGUK
Stick with shell fuel imo, you know what happened with tesco not so long ago + i get considerably more miles per tank with shell fuel than i do with any others, especially supermarkets
thenamesross
How much more miles do you reckon you get with Vpower over unleaded? tbh I still havent put super in mine and have been running it on normal unleaded.
PsYcHe
Reckon I got about an extra 30-40 miles from a tank using Vpower, but only if I did a lot of motorway cruising, driving around the streets, I didn't see much difference.
nikw
When in France I run my '8 on 98 RON from various sources and see a small economy improvement (circa 1 mpg in mixed driving). The price differential is negligible - 1-2 Euro cents - and therefore worth it for the economy improvement. In the UK I use Shell 95 RON almost exclusively. The 7p per litre price premium seems excessive given the French situation, and certainly not justified by either the small economy or performance gains.
