rpadam
Just wondering what price people paid for a 40K AVS service from Audi? They’ve quoted me £400…. I know the topic of which oil to use has been covered several times, but my local Audi said they use castrol slx longlife III, now if memory serves me correct castrol stop making the longlife oils which is now been replaced by castrol edge? So how come Audi have this oil? Even went down to halfords to see if they stock slx longlife III but they don’t. Should I supply my own oil (Mobil 1) or should I stick with the oil audi are supplying?
R4V_S3
Haven't taken got to 40k yet mate so can't help much i'm afraid! My Audi dealer changed my oil to Mobil 1! Can you not take your own oil there? What Stealer quoted you £400? Try Slough Audi, they were very cheap for my last service
rpadam
if you supply your own oil Harold Wood Auid charge £340, making a saving of £15 as Mobil 1 cost about £45 for 5 litres.
R4V_S3
Or go to costo and pick up mobil 1 for £25 for 5L! But try calling around for some other quotes.. it's typically worthwhile heading out of city centres..
4RingsDH
Castrol still supply longlife 3 in barrells of 60 litres and upwards as well as bulk purchases (filling large holding tanks). I purchase and use castrol longlife 3 on all the services i perform (AVS obviously!). FYI we carry out 40K AVS services on S3's for £230 inclusive
Hopsta
* cough * advertising I'd recommend Dean @ 4 Rings, great service from him
rpadam
As Harold Wood Audi couldn't tell me what they were going to do for £400, I called Audi Customer Service for an answer. The guy on the phone couldn’t answer my question so he got Lea Valley Audi to call me. They told me everything I wanted to hear and said they service will cost me £290 Inc VAT. What a difference in price
