paul130TDI
Gutted.... Some scummy, deprived *****hole thought to themselves, what will we do today, i know when people are returning home from their days work, we'll sit at the side of the carriageway and brick their cars passing at 50+mph After spending about 3 hrs with scratch remover and a few blisters later managed to reduce the appearance of the scratches. Although because i know its there my eyes are drawn to it... Is it a big job in replacing the rear passenger window and is it worth paying the 50 quid access on glass replacement through the car ins to get it replaced?? Im just glad it was the glass and not the roof or middle of the door.
Mook
Bad luck Paul. Really sorry to hear that. I once found that slamming on the anchors, pulling over and running like feck after the like b*stards worked a treat, especially if you happen to have something large and baseball bat shaped in the car. allroadman
Worst nightmare situation when something like that happens. The Window is going to be about £98 + VAT, and the rear quarter trim has to come off to change it.
spikeyboy
Sorry to hear that - scum bags. I would recommend doing it through insurance - its very simple and you dont lose your no claims bonus. All you need to do is check with your insurance company who they have as approved fitters (probably auto glass) book to have it fitted and take your insurance documents with you - you just pay the excess and they do everything else. paul130TDI
Cheers guys, is there much involved in removing the door trim and replacing the window, really what im asking is would a window replacement place such as RAC or AA do a good job and be able to replace the window without wrecking the trim ar starting rattles etc

spikeyboy
Guess they would do a good as job and any place - its what they do al day. But as with everything it can depend on how much they car about their work. I do know that Autoglass workmanship is fully gauranteed for what its worth
MGquattro
Sorry to hear about this Paul. I had a similar incident when a brick bounced off the front windscreen of a citroen I had a few years ago whilst on the West-link. There is an RAC place off Duncrew St at the docks which is good and they can also fill small scratches, depending on size. I think Agnews have a deal with a windsreen co. also, I had the get the two rear quarter windows on my avant changed because of the aerials and they brought in this other firm to do it, mighth be worth a call. I really dont think it is a DIY job and if it were me I would want it fixed otherwies it will Always niggle...... Mike P.S I have a base ball bat if required.........
