Sponge
My car is going into Chester Audi this afternoon to have the tyres looked at. (I'm going to ask them to check out a few other things as well.) The dealer said they didn't have any cars available, but would contact Audi UK (the tyre issue was brought to their attention) to see if they could provide one. My question is, does Audi UK have a fleet of courtesy cars? Will it be an Audi? Or someone's clapped out Fiesta?!
DanG
Maybe, but more likely they could authorise a hire car etc to keep you mobile.
shao_khan
Well I have mine booked in and the serrvice manager asked what we would like - my Wife said "Same power output please, or at least similar" - so we have a 1.9tdi A4...... chasdrury
They do have a fleet of Courtesy cars, they are run and managed by a company called QEG or QEK - or they were last time I had one. They are all Audis. Sometimes though you will get a rent car from National Alamo. Chaz

Chav
Yeh right - Chester Audi never have sodding courtesy cars. Tell them to give you on of the salesmens cars for the day! Also, they'll give you lifts to/from somewhere if you ask!
Sponge
We turned up around 1645 and were escorted straight to a desk with a very nice lady at it. She took some details and then went out back to check on our courtesy car. Long story short, it wasn't there! Audi UK were meant to drop it off at 1600, but hadn't. A few phone calls later and nearly an hour of waiting she finally decided to give us one of theirs (presumably set aside for someone else) and give the Audi UK car (if it turned up) to someone else. I think what swung it was having Rohan there. A screaming 20 month old baby starting to get annoyed with the situation apparently helps. One point worthy of mention is the excess though, £1000. Or £50 if you pay £10 per day. I declined. As we were driving out my wife mentioned she had heard another customer get the £10 fee waived. I should have asked for the same, considering the waiting. They're calling back tomorrow re the tyres. We got an A3 Sportback, 1.9TDI. 250 miles on the clock. Very nice, but very basic.
Scotty
we used to regularly get fobbed out with an A2. A couple of years ago when I booked I said an A2 wasn't suitable. Since then it's been a 3.2 A3 and a 2.0T A4. I'd say they're perfectly fine as courtesy cars.
Alastair_A3
Whenever we take the mrs's A3 in to chester audi for any warrenty issues etc we've always had a car supplied Its ranged from an A4 2.0 TDI SE and most recently an A3 2.0TDI Sport. When we had a VW we used to get given a gutless polo in lovely yellow
Sponge
In Chester's defence, it wasn't their fault Audi UK hadn't delivered the car. When it looked like it wasn't going to get sorted, the woman acted and gave us an alternative. I don't think Liverpool Audi would have been so accommodating. The courtesy car is brand new and it's nice to drive something different. We considered a Sportback at the time we bought the Avant, but I wanted the Avant. The Sportback isn't an S-Line, like our Avant, and it's actually quite nice to drive something, er, less harsh.
Chrisg
I gave up after getting a series of A2s from Slough Audi....they them gave me a lift/taxi into work ( Maidenhead) and I was happy to get the bus back ! In 1996 we had a A4 T Sport for about 6 months. The 2.8 quattro we ordered was on hold ( cam chains I believe)and the dealer got us the T Sport...... in the end the delay was so long ,the 2.8 came with the wrong spec ( not dealers fault either)we bought the T sport ! PetrolDave
When I've taken my S4 to Camberley Audi I've had anything from an A2 to an RS6(!). Southampton Audi have only ever given me an A2, I'll be expecting better if they think they're going to service my RS4...

Sponge
We collected our A4 this morning and while I was moving all our stuff from the A3 into the A4, my wife was talking to the service lady. It turns out that the Audi UK car never arrived. The person that was originally getting our A3 ended up with car belonging to one of the sales staff. PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Out of intrest, does the RS6 feel alot slower than your RS4? [/ QUOTE ] Given that I only had the RS6 for a day and I don't "push" cars I'm not familiar with I would say it's much the same. But, there is one feature I want badly on the next RS4 - paddle gear change. It's so easy slipping the selector over to the S position and changing down from 6th to 3rd as you see the National speed limit signs and then just flooring the loud pedal - wish I could do that in my RS4 rather than having to "stir the stick".
