MRSNEAK
Hi I have an 07 A4 s-line special edition. It came with continental tyres, the fronts are now almost ilegal after 8500 miles. Is this normal? The backs seam fine. It's a company car so i get no say in what tyres go on. The garage have ordered some michelin pilot ps2???? Are these any good and are they better or worse than what I have at present? I noticed a leak under the car today, just a small one and it seems to have stopped. Seemed to be like water, least thats what it tasted like (with a bit of something else in it...) was coming from the very middle of the car underneath. About in line with where the font door meets the back. Any ideas?? Thanks for you help in advance
terrymcg
I was actually in at Stirling Audi yesterday and was speaking to another guy sitting waiting, he had the same model A4 as yours. He was also getting his front tyres changed. The car had shredded them after 7000 miles. The garage had originally refused to change them for him FOC, he was not happy with this and quite rightly so! He then rang Audi UK customer services and they got him a new set fitted through Stirling Audi. So defo worth a try! With regards to your leak it will be your air con, or the condensation on the out side of the compressor leaking onto the ground. Perfectly normal. If you have your air con turned off then I would keep an eye on it! Terry
TDiAvant
I found continentals were sh!te on the A4, the PS2 are a far better tyre. The water could be condensation from the aircon system
DanG
I had the dealer rotate the tyres on my 2.0T Quattro SE after 9k miles as the fronts were very worn. They lasted a little longer, but all 4 were replaced at 14k miles. Car was understeering very badly in the wet. I think this is a fault of the AVS Servicing. If you came in more frequently they could rotate your tyres and make them last longer.... Water could be air con compressor... keep checking your coolant though to be safe. Domus
Audi dealers rotating tyres They don't even take them off to check the brake pads. If you don't take them off yourself and put copper grease on the hubs........fear a puncture.

IanHo
I have the same car, I'm guessing yours is FWD not quattro? The Conti's lasted for 25K all round on my Quattro swapped for Good Year F1 Asymmetrics wearing well after 6K.
