  1. My vito van I've been using for work last few years, lol. Not drove the .:R in about six months so was a waste having it sit in garage doing nothing. Debt to pay so car had to go I'm afraid. Might look at buying an older car later in the year, something around the £2k mark but still being reliable etc (if there is such a thing after .:R ownership)
  2. I finally took the plunge and stuck the car up for sale a few weeks ago, cheque parted hands today so just waiting for that to go through the bank and then the keys will be handed over never to see her again Going to be an emotional day. Cheers to everyone who's given advice, tips etc etc over the years. Been one helluva ride. Got some oem parts kicking around so I'll post up details of them when I get round to it.
  3. Private sale, if it goes ahead. As for my new toy, well I started a valeting franchise two years ago, so my new toy will continue to be my White Vito, oh god how depressing is that compared to the V6 burble! Funds from selling the car will pay off all my credit cards and allow me to go to Canada and do my Snowboard instructor course, then its off to Nz for me(in a few years)
  4. Cheers guys. Yeah its a cash offer, had been hoping for a bit more, but I know that mod's count for nothing nowadays and even the delay on the tax increase doesn't seem to have helped boost the thirsty beasts resale value. Be a few tears to see her go after four years though.
  5. I've just been offered £12k for my 04 Mkiv. Just over 24.5k on the clock, haldex, milltek, short shift, anti roll bars, sat nav, full leather. Do you think I'm insane for wanting to hold out for closer to £13k for it?
  6. Due to relocation abroad I'm having to sell my beloved R32. Mkiv, 04 Plate. Black 3 Door, full leather, sat nav, cruise control, under 25k on the clock. Interior and exterior in excellent condition, .:R badge centre caps on alloys, ST milltek exhaust fitted a year ago, neuspeed arb's front and rear, front upper and lower neuspeed strut braces, haldex upgrade, sprint booster, carboni cold air intake, neuspeed short shift gear change, 'stubby' ariel, ipod dock fitted in glovebox, full service history, taxed until end oct 08, Mot until march 09 and 2 Owners from new (including me). Looking for £13,995 ono. Full details/pictures available upon request.

    Its time

After almost four years of glorious R ownership I've now accepted that I have to sell her. I'm leaving these shores within the next few years for new Zealand, while the temptation is there to keep the R until I go the sad fact is that she's only turning her wheels once a week for a 30min drive so I'm not doing any justice, plus the fact I'm still making car payments for sitting in the garage. 04 mkiv, full leather, sat nav, three door, under 25k on the clock, neuspeed arb's, haldex, upper/lower strut braces, carboni cai, sprint booster, and ST milltek complete the package. Just looking around online for a rough guide price, I'll probably go for autotrader and word of mouth as my selling tools, unless a dealership meets whatever price is right. At least I'll still have my diecast R32 model
  8. What you have to lose is the light hearted banter this forum is filled with. I thought Aussie's were all meant to be laid back about everything?! The point everyone is getting at is that you don't need to know exactly how everything works in a car like this, it just works, and when it doesn't work there tends to be a sensor that'll tell you something is wrong, a trip/phonecall to local service garage and then they will tell you what went wrong. I've had mine for four years now and I've never worried about how certain parts of the car works or why it does certain things. So just chill and enjoy an awesome car mate
  9. Push down on accel to go fast and the brake to stop, thats how the car works mate, oh, and turn that round thing infront of you to navigate turns As Mook/Nelson says, go out and have a blast, thats certainly what I'd be doing if I was in Oz (instead its Canada I'll be moving to)
  10. As the snow seasons now ended I've got oem vw roof bars and snowboard/ski rack sitting in the garage. Fits 3 door mkiv golfs. Cost around £175 when bought in Nov. Used only a few times and in 'as new' condition. Pm any sensible offers. Would probably be best for local pickup to avoid postage costs but willing post out if anyone can advise who to use. No longer have the box, but torque wrench included. Cheers.
  11. No idea how long it 'should' take. To be honest it might not have been their fault about the strut brace, the guy working on it was trying to fit it without having to do any additional work, whereas Jim at Star knew to drop down something and then fit the bar within mins from there. Prob call both Jim and Drivers to get an average quote, emissions light came on yesterday (third time in 3/4years) so it needs booked in sharpish.
  12. Its time for my first service outside of warrenty, so I'm looking to take it somewhere other than the local vw dealer. I've been up to Star for all my mods but thats 60miles away from me. I've been into Drivers in town once, but they tried to quote me two hours to fit lower strut brace, whereas up at Star it wasn't even half an hours work. Any suggestions from someone who's 'been there done it' much appreciated
  13. Its all down to your own opinion I'm afraid. I went for the non-res and I love it. I've not heard a res version in the flesh to compare though, but I wouldn't swap from my non-res anyway as it just sounds superb in my opinion
  14. I've tried to look through the various lists but I can't see if anyone is in or around Glasgow with vag-com. I'm looking to have the 'miles to empty' displayed on my mkiv r32. Cheers all.
  15. Here we go again. I think your both still stuck in denial about which colour is fastest
