golf_driver_30 Posted August 31, 2009 Report Share Posted August 31, 2009 Hi, 2002 Golf 2.0l 8v badged as GTi in Uk. Everything has been fine but the other day the engine management light flashed on and off for 10 seconds. I thought nothing of it. Today I get in the car, start her up and the engine light comes on as it should, goes off as it should. After 100 yards it starts flashing again and the acceleration was terrible and it sounded like it was going to stall, juddering and no response to the accelerator pedal? Then after half a mile the light goes off but the engine still feels like I'm driving a 1.3l escort from the early 90's! Just before I got home the light came on again? Sigh.... All garages with diagnostic equipment are closed today as it's a public holiday. Any ideas what this could be and how much I will be looking at?
