JPP
Hi all, Got a wee problem. Was upgrading my Steering Control Module and Slip ring for MFSW. After changing them the dash lit up like a christmas tree (brake, abs, esp etc... expected this to be honest). What I didn't expect is that the ABS module doesn't have either the WSC or adaption (soft) coding, only a string of zeros. My cars a quattro diesel that was fitted with 16" wheels originally so I kind of guess the log-in code will be 09355 as the car originally had 16" wheels fitted (no sticker in the boot or service manual I'm afraid). Nothing I do seems to get me into the controller to reset the soft coding. Sadly, I didn't take note of the ABS soft code as I wasn't doing anything to it - silly me! BTW, the ABS is reported as ABS/ESP allrad 1726. Also, I can't get the steering module to learn the car's vin - if I enter 00111 in adaption ch81 it enters 111 in the test value then saving this does nothing. Go back in and there's just a questionmark in the vin field as before. I'm using an upto date VCDS10.6 that's on an oldish P4 lapdog with no internet connection (no nasty viruses or AV programs to interfere that way!) To get things working again I reinstalled the old bits and yep.... the b!oody same!! This log-in thing seems to be something of an issue here so any help would be gratefully recieved. shark_90
Find the cruise/dis thread on here, the instructions will tell you how to do it
JPP
Yep, been there already. Problem is as I've mentioned, the login doesn't work, in either the ABS or the Steering modules, despite trawling through 30 odd pages of that particular thread. I hope I'm not missing something very obvious. Sadly, my MoT failed last week coz the dashboard was lit up with various ABS & brake warnings. What I'm looking for is a definative answer to this particular problem, not how to install cruise control.
shark_90
What I'm looking for is a definative answer to this particular problem, not how to install cruise control. Which is all in the information given in the cruise control thread. I know, because I wrote it, and use it as reference almost every time I do one. The login will work, if you use the correct login. shark_90
I would suspect the login you need will be 09555 and coding of 04255.
