badgersuk
hey, Just wondering if anyone here has tried replacing the air filter on their tractor with an after market one. Am looking at replacing mine, as it seems to get replaced every service and i like the idea of a 10yr K&N one - especially if it adds a bit more power too. Got an A4 2.5tdi 2003 and i'm doing lots of miles. Any comments/suggestions? Cheers Stu
Rustynuts
No, don't waste your money. The oil used on the K & N filter doesn't do the MAF sensor any good if you over oil the thing. The stock filter is good enough, and if you're looking for a bit more power, then fuelling is the way to go. The turbo provides all the air the engine needs based on the ECU injecting a set amout of fuel, so giving it more air wont change anything. If you mod your motor til the air inlet is restricting airflow and holding you back, then you need to look at some sort of increase, but as it is at the moment, leave it as is and change it at service specifications. UBM
I agree - try millers diesel plus or a tuning box - or both
badgersuk
Already got the tuning box so sorted there. Was just wondering about the filter. THanks for the input - the ECU comment seems to make sense to me and seems logical. Thanks guys
