B6 S4 - Red Warning

I have now twice had a big red warning flash up on the dis, it is an exclamation mark with a circle around it with the work BREMSE (brakes I assume) underneath. After a while it goes away and its been about 6-8 weeks in between flashing up.

The pads appear to have some life left in them. Should I be worried or is it likely to be a faulty sensor of some description.

I had this and it turned out to be a low voltage problem, i.e. battery on its way out. IIRC others on here have suffered the same fault and it's been discussed several times before.

What about your Brake fluid level

That's the correct warning, yes, and it might just be that. My car was in for something else and I mentioned that I'd had this happen twice, some time apart as with S3Mark. Upon inspection the brake fluid was slightly low so they topped it up, but it can also mean a voltage drop and sure enough when the battery was checked it was found to be on its last legs and was replaced. I believe UBM on here has also been down this road at some point.

Indeed, twice!

It was the battery on its way out - which was replaced under warranty.

Another time, the brake fluid was topped up and it went away.

And of course, on the B7 it is a known fault which I have finally had cured!

Thanks all will check the brake fluid level, the battery was recently replaced (about 3 months ago) so I hope it isn't that.
