nicksaint
Hi I have been told by my main dealer that there is an error on my A8 (D3/2003) that shows the 'body acceleration sensor' is faulty. I have been quoted nearly £500 (labour/parts) for this to be fitted. There are no warnings on the vehicle that I have seen (eg ESP faulty) so how do I know this is true and also is the amount quoted reasonable? Any info anyone can provide would be gratefully appreciated! Cheers!
LostKiwi
Sounds like you might need to ask someone with Vag-Com to take a look... Strange there are no symptoms though....
thepm
Hi I would think it is item 35 from here http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/au/A8Q/2003/291/57/3730949/#35 It is a "combi-sensor for acceleration and yaw" and used for the ESP. I think it sits in the central tunnel, just a bit back from the ashtray if I remeber correctly. I would have thought it would have thrown up a fault on the ESP if it was faulty. Why did the dealer say it needed replacing? Had it been in for a service? How many miles are on the car and does it have a full Audi service history?
