gkelly
hi there would greatly appreciate any help on ther following. my 72k 1998 1.8t sport audi a3 has a trembling feedback through the brake pedal occasionally when on the brakes or when pulling off on the clutch (feedback never through clutch tho), strange since doesnt effect braking performance, seems almost like abs effect (which leads me to believe it may be abs faulty). a number of mechanics told me it was a warped disc, all 4 discs were changed as well as pads and on ecaliper on the rear needed changing. but unfortu ately this hasnt solved the problem!! please help. S3_Scot
hi there i had this on my s3 and was told it was a warped disk well..2 ) & had all 4 replaced with grooved ones. I still get it occasionally but this is due to the crap on the discs that collects in the city. Take it out somewhere quiet with dualcarridge-roundabout-dualcarrage etc and get to 70 and break to 0 and try again and if ok a bit quicker till the discs are clean. otherwise, try a 30 mph emergency stop and see if the abs works or not. (quiet carpark!!)

gkelly
gt brakes checked this morn, after further discovering none of my rear brake lights were wrkin by chance! since fuses and bulbs were ok i guessed it was the brake switch behind the pedal, much to my joy this has not only solved the lighting problem but also the abs coming on unecessarily!! hopefully the end of the problem and also this helps neone else havin similar problems
