cheet22
Jumping on the back of the last new topic from mlillwh, anyone know whats the max size of wheel/tyre I can fit to me D2 A8 Sport? I'm a sucker for fat tyres, and seen a set of 20" with 295/40/19 tyres - not sure though if these are just too big? I guess I need to check tyre calc too to see how this affects speedo etc compared to stock 245/45/18 I have now
grdunn123
You wouldn't get those size tyres on a 20 inch wheel!
cheet22
oops...spot the typo time I meant to say 295/49/20 - as on a Q7 From AudiPages seems max front is perhaps 255 width, rear may allow for 295's - pretty big difference though, so not sure how that would affect handling
LostKiwi
You need to keep the rolling diameters fairly close front to rear or the centre diff can get a bit upset as its trying to compensate for different rotational speeds front to rear (exactly as happens on a slippery surface). Traction control systems and ESP systems similarly get upset with different size tyres to what it expects on each axle.
greyjag
he must concider how the diameter effects the speedometer. it also has a small effect on the abs system but not so you would notice.
