Abs
Hello all, Washed my car on saturday, and when drying, I noticed that the rear windscreen wasn't drying! Then realised that the water was on the inside of it! Had a look, and noticed that the water was coming in through the seal around the screen. Is this an easy fix? Being double glazed, will this be a problem? Something which you can do yourself? Cheers
cruiser647
Ian_C might be able to advise, as he is a windscreen/window genius.........as it might take a little bit more than the Comma Stop Windscreen Leak! Calling Ian_C!
Abs
Just called the likes of Autoglass up, who said that they could replace the seal for £45, but they need to remove the windscreen in order to do that. But then went on to say that it is very likely the windscreen will crack, so I will have to pay for a new one?! Might have to resort to a "large stone chip" on the back windscreen, and then get it replaced via insurance.
IT_S8
In our experience, the rear screen comes out relitively easily - its the front ones that are a knightmare. Autoglass may well get it out in one piece, but they won't 'guarantee it' just in case.... We spoke to some autoglass guys when we needed a bunch of screens out - They said they 99% of them out in one piece, but you just can't guarantee it, hence they wouldn't do a 'remove only' service for us and we bought the kits to do it...
