Hi All,

Just got home and realised that i have a flat tire, Changed over for the spare but think the drive home has killed the tire if the punture hasn't. Didn't realise on the way home apart from a slight pull.

Anyway couple of questions:

Do i or should i need to change both fronts? i have done about 7k miles on these tires.

And any recommendations? tires are currently Pirelli P Zero Rossi 225 40 18.

Thanks

Matt

FWIW Audi often use Continental Sport Contact 2's on 18". I've stuck with them on my S4 (about to fit my 5th pair incl the OEM pair) and they are okay, cheapish and I've always got a spare that matches (S4 has full size spare). Michelin Pilot Sport 2's are meant to last longer but are more expensive.

Both the above are OEM tyres (as obviously are the Pirellis'). If you are happy to go outside that net then guys on the A4 forum recommend GoodYear and Toyo.

PS I would change both fronts. What's the tread depth on the rears?

Also about to face this question (after the winter when the "proper" wheels get put back on).

Another set of Michelins or the Goodyear Asymmetrics?

Same as iceman I am finding the nose sliding around plenty now they have only about 4mm left.

I am tempted to try the Goodyears especially as they are cheaper. Any 3.2 owners using them? Please chime in either way.

Did you choose the Dunlops for a particular reason? Cheers...

Yes, because that's what it was fitted with originally and on first change I only needed 2 and don't like mixing brands, which is probably not the best reason but I have no complaints and they work very well.
