New tyre dilemma......

I've got Avons on at the moment and I can't say anything bad about them. Unless you're driving hard on the road or doing a lot trackdays I don't honestly think you'll notice a huge difference between any of the major brands.

If you need a supplier for just about any brand, Camskill offer great prices and free next-day delivery. 169144-ok.gif

Not much difference in price between the Proxes T1-Rs at £102 and the Michelin PS2s at £123. I've got Pirelli PZero Neros on the CHs and they are £115 in 18". Wouldn't bother with 'budget' tyre as its going on a car capable of 156mph! My Michelin PS2s were best and lasted for ages although Pirellis standing up well to abuse.

Might be worth shopping about on internet for deal price for 4 (I googled for my prices above and only based on 1)

Thanks as ever for all your input. I do take your point Dan with regards budget tyres but i cannot affort 500+ notes on Michellins or similar this time around. I obviously wont go for any of the real budget ones but im hearing good things about the Avon tyres and they are sensibly priced in between 169144-ok.gif

I had Avon's on my MkIV Turbo a couple of years back and thought they were very noisey. Dont know if they still like that but wouldnt be in a rush to get them again. You cant short change on a set of cheap boots. After all they keep your pride and joy on the road znaika.gif

Road noise seems fine so far. 169144-ok.gif

I went for them as much because they were in stock and available for next-day a.m. delivery, as much as anything. From what I've found so far, they don't really seem different to the Michelins they replaced.

I personally wouldn't go for the very low-end brands, but if you read the many and various tyre tests that crop up regularly, it's not always the top names that come out best. crazy.gif
