Retriming headliner in suede

I think the interior trim on Audis is fantastic but the only thing on my car I would really like that it dosnt have is suede headlining.

I saw a w12 with the suede headliner and door inserts in Berlin in an Audi dealership and it looked and smelled amazing.

I must admit I am a bit scared of messing with the interior, if I decide to get it done I will take it to the best retrimmer I can find. Does anyone know if its a big job on a d3 A8, I am sure I read somewhere that to replace the headlining on the d3s you have to replace the rear windscreen. No way thats going to happen, it would kill the idea pretty quickly.

Its worth noting that what Audi say, and what you can do are two different things. The D2 shape manuals say the headlining should come out of the front passenger door, but with delicate bending, it'll come out of any of them....

'Removing the windscreen' will be the Audi 'This is proper 100% correct way' to do it, but other ways may be plausible.

We've not had demand to break a D3 yet, so I can't comment on where it will fit out of, but I'll certainly try it when we get one 169144-ok.gif

I do agree though, the alcantara/suede/leather interior enhancements are subtle, but really nice... £5K option on the D2's, so rare and more unique..

I'd really miss mine if I moved it on...
