coatsy35
I have a 52 reg Passat Estate 130, and two days ago I was driving along and the boot door warning message cam on saying the door was open, so I stoped and opened and closed it. But the message keeps flashing and it's not going away. It seems to turn off briefly and then back on again when I go over a bump, prompting that annoying beep. On a bumpy road its a pain! and now its getting worse, i.e. every 5-6 seconds is bleeps, and to make matters worse if i lock it and arm the alarm, 10 mins later the alarm goes off, and if i unlock and then lock it again it will go off again. All I can do at the moment is to lock it without the alarm, but that doesn't always work, it seems hit and miss! Can somone please tell me where the sensor is or the wiring runs, and i'll check them out. regards Dan
vincentbob
There is a micro switch built into the lock mechanism, directly below the rear washer pipe connection, this senses the position of the latch, open or closed. The water has probably frozen up and blown the pipe off, spraying water on the switch. To get to it you need to remove the interior trim, and if memory serves there are two or three screws on the underside of the bottom edge, then several pop studs into the tailgate that will pull out. You have to spring the top a little to get it out of the window trim, then blow out the switch, re attach the water pipe. Then test it before you refit the trim panel. It will take you 1/2 and hour or so. Happy Xmas
