Yes to both. Traking checked at VW garage - cann't be done at most. Checked they where all on the correct way. Played around with tyre pressures.

Loving have a proper boots on again. The differance is massive.

does seem very odd, will see what mine are like when i get them on

Changed from ContiSC2's to the Assys back in Feb and after the first couple of hundered miles have found them on par with MichPS2 for grip and noise (my all time fave tyre is the PS2 which ever car I've had them on).

I've just checked mine and they are E13, Made In Germany. But I run 19"

Not sure what to suggest, but you need to do it quick before putting too many mies on them if your going to argue with Goodyear/Supplier.

Just spotted this. I test drove a (1 year old) MK5 Gti at a main dealer a couple of weeks ago, and I was surprised at how understeery it was, salesbloke said it was 'normal', but I honestly thought it was worse than the 2 x MK4 Gti's I have had, which is saying something. I loved the car, but the understeer really put me off. No idea what rubber they it though. Hope you sort your problem. Maybe drive an identical one and make a balanced judgement on yours ?

Now, where did I put that BMW 1 series brochure....
