I 2nd that dont let the dealers touch it then get yourself booked in with a pro detailer, and pick up good techniques etc from them on how to maintain the finish.

Totally agee with the guys above. If I am ever lucky enough to get a new car I will be booking it in with a pro detailer first. It is the way to go. +++

I had to have my done as well - I would certainly consider getting the paint sealed as well, I spent just over £250 on getting mine done and it came up trumps!
