wyliss
After all this bad weather/lack of time the car is finally getting a wash tomorrow. I gave some Duragloss 902 shampoo to a friend ofmine the other day for a test and what a difference it has made to the car, it looks superb, so I think a spot ofthe same is order tomorrow. I have some of the Surf City Garage QD & Glass cleaner too so will be giving those a blast too, will let you guys know what this gear is like tomorrow. Fingers crossed the rain keeps off or it will have to be Wednesday.

Cheers for the heads up mate , will prob have a blast tomorrow. The inside could do with a real good clean though .......kids....... I think I will mix a tadge of APC in a bucket and give the dash/doorcards etc a good clean. Plus the headlining could do with a spritz. Has anybody used weak APC on the headlining before ? steelwind101
Just check for staining from the APC on the interior. Geoff
wyliss
Just check for staining from the APC on the interior. Geoff Didnt use the APCin the end, opted for the Woolite like you said Geoff, nice job. Clean looking and smelling ! Car has had its clean, just using some of the Surf City Garage QD, will compare it with the Clearkote QD stuff which gives an amazing shine....... Difficult to tell between these two products really, when I first used Clearkote it knocked the spots off any other QD I'd ever used, outstanding shine and when used on metallic you could actually see the bits popping out at you. The SCG QD stuff is similar and its hard to tell the difference but I can recommend it if you are looking for a decent QD. The tyre dressing too is nice to use and the look is just right, not too sure on longevity though, got about 10 days from the first use. Question now is though do we know of a QD which is better than the above two ?............ I hear a few of you say.........not more bottles on the shelf of my garage !! I also find the Clearkote excellent. It gives my solid red car a very radiant wet look. On wheels I can thoroughly recommend the Megs Ultimate QD - better than alloy wheel sealer and looks very good.:D
wyliss
Not used the Megs may give it a try. I must say that the Duragloss 901 shampoo is superb, slick and what clean shining finish it leaves. I managed to get to the inside of the car last night. I used a dash of Megs APC in a bucket of hot water and gave the dash, door panels and shuts etc a good clean, what a difference. All that is required now is a nice coat of Poorboys Natural Look dressing, now that stuff is nice !. What would we do without the Yanks for our cleaning goodies ???? steelwind101
The clean up sounds like it turned out great! Im glad some of my recommendations worked out good! With regard the QD, in that top notch of QD's they are hard to tell a difference between them. However, in "theory" the SCG one acutally is a mini spray sealant in that leaves some protection behind. How long that will last in the rain is open to contest but before it gets rain it will cut out UV rays and preserve the protection underneath it. Likewise, using the SCG QD on areas that are prone to oxidation and sun damage like clear headlamps and vinyl rear windows etc. should help preserve them for longer. You will be hard pushed to buy a better carwash then 90X from Duragloss, it smells so good too. Meguiars NXT 2.0 contains the same water repelling content that is in the UQD so im looking forward to getting some! TT, i will try some on my wheels!
