Today saw me wrestling against a very sorry looking 3 series on an 05 plate, this started on tuesday for a regular client who had just purchased the car & was booked in for a Detox 3 + extractor to upholstery, it's always nice to rid yourself of other people out of your new car

On arrival she pointed out a few "grey" patches... We had a chat & I inspected I guessed either shonky bodyshopy repair or ham fisted polish attempt by someone who had absolutely no idea what he/she was doing, further investigation by the owner revealed the latter ! & another mess for me to clean up seem to have alot of these this year so far.

Today I "borrowed" the local AS rep's unit for the day (he's a mate & a good guy) it was pretty busy at 8am

Washed two bucket method using lambswool mash mitt & as tardis for the tar deposits, clayed with Zaino clay while still wet rinsed again dried off & into the unit, I had already taken many PTG readings on tue so pretty much knew what was in store, some befores

Working my way around the car, this was then followed up with Menz' 85RD on a blue pad, which was followed by an ipa wipe over once all done.

Panel gaps etc blown with the airline & dust over with my new duster.

Dodo lime prime lite by hand, I found this to be a tad on the fussy side but maybe it was the weather conditions or just me ? I will faff with it again over the weekend & see what its like on the Detox machine, Wax of choice today was Swissvax Best Of Show applied by germn applicator & while this did its stuff I dressed the tyres, arches etc & then buffed off with a Poorboys fluffy mf

Quick tidy up, outside for inspection & wipe down with some field glaze, which left me with this:

Sorry for the complete lack of whole car shots I had a garage to my left & many 1000L tanks to my right (which you can see in some reflections) they didnt make for super backdrops

Many thanks for taking the time to read any comments welcome

Looks great! BOS came up quite nice, do you apply to the whole car first or panel by panel?

Cheers ! Was worth the effort

Best of show is one of my favourite waxes, this time I applied to the whole car & virtually buffed off right away, if it was any warmer (or I wasnt in the shade) I would probably have done it panel by panel, but kept my eye on the wax as I applied anyhow

Thanks

Baz
