Paul
I rigged my Karcher upto a 25l drum during the hose pipe ban, all with hose lock fittings and a breather hole to let air in as water went out. I managed it without the suction hose quite adequately. Im a fussy cleaner and probably used 1 and half containers to do a car really well. If you were a little more sparing you could easily do it with a 25 l drum and have some water left over to water the plants. Im not sure if it was related (unlikely), but at some point after this, my Karcher stopped auto stopping the motor when the trigger was off, and would hunt, on off on off etc etc. This is a common fault and usually shows there is a leak/ pressure drop in the pump housing. I didnt bother to fix it, i just bought another one.

Roy32
I got a 40lt builders bucket from BnQ a bit of hose cut from garden hose and this was more than adequate to clean my R during the hose pipe ban.
maersk
IIRC pressure washers+++ are exempt from hosepipe bans as they consume so much less water.................
Paul
Not in Thames Valley. Its connected via a hose pipe. Only a "static water source" was allowed, and even then with less than 1m of hose to/from that water source.
