runflat
Hi guys, I am about to order a G220 with the following pads (went for Sonus as they are cheaper): Sonus SFX-1 6" Restore Pad Sonus SFX-2 6" Enhance Pad Sonus SFX-3 6" Final Finish Pad I can't decide between Sonus polishes and Megs: Sonus Sonus SFX-1 Restore Polish Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Polish Sonus SFX-3 Final Finish Polish Megs Dual Action Cleaner Polish #83 Dual Speed Glaze #80 Although sonus are cheaper, you get much more in the bottle with Megs stuff. The Sonus kit seems easy to use - SFX-1 pad with SFX-1 polish etc but I just wondered what you chaps had tried out and whether you could advise me on what to use as a finishing polish. I was planning on using NXT for the final wax by hand. SO: Any thoughts? Cheers, runflat.
steelwind101
Hello! Both are good choices and the whole SFX setup is fairly idiot proof. You can even get away with using the Restore polish on the enhance pad for a slightly less aggresive approach. I have used it quite effectivily but im not sure what sort of results it would bring out on hard German paint (you have an Audi?). IMO, if you were going the Megs route get 2x the Megs own pads. I find the #80 and #83 tend to choke the pads a bit quicker then other products. I suspect its down there very oily formulations. Geoff
runflat
Cheers for that Geoff, anyone else had experience of either combinations?
ahaydock
I have used both and as Geoff says you wont go wrong with either. Personally I prefer the Megs pads and polishes and as Geoff says they Sonus pads will clog up quicker if using the Megs polishes. I use Megs 83 on a SFX1 and find it clogs up quicker than a Megs Pad. If it were me I would go for the Megs pads and polishes :thumb:

runflat
Ordered the beast today. I ended up going for Megs products after your suggestion and what I have read about them being more effective than Sonus on VAG paint. Final kit is: G220 Machine Polisher 1 Softbuff™ 6.5" Cutting Pad 2 Softbuff™ 6.5" Polishing Pad 1 Softbuff™ 6.5" Finishing Pad Dual Action Cleaner Polish #83 Dual Speed Glaze #80 Should arrive on Monday...will try to get some pics when I get chance to fire it up.
