A mini guy told me it could be the clutch, so I took it to vines bmw and the said it might be the clutch but they could not say for sure until they strip it down at a cost of £ 900 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The turbo can squeek or screech a little when cold and taking off in first gear first thing in the morning till the engine warms after a minute or two. It does not happen every time, mostly when it is pretty cold outside. Clutch responds fine. After warm the sound is gone. I hear as the turbo till is warm after a minute or so. Cheers back at ya.
