mburton2
My Girlfriends son has just bought a Lupo Gti (Againt my advise....he paid WAAYYYY too much for it, cant afford it, cant drive etc)....anyhow, he's having trouble with it, its been back to the dealer 3 times in the two months he's had it...... Its the Alarm/rear door thats causing a problem....the car keeps on thinking that the back door is open, and thus when he's driving, he gets a light up on the dash, but even worse, when its parked/alarmed, the alarm keeps going off... The dealer said it was the rear-wash hose that had split, and putting fluid over the swith, and repalced this twice now (in 2months!), but the problem is still there... WHERE is the door-ajar switch on a Lupo Gti??...is it hidden in the mechanical Latch? Is this s common problem with this model? advise please mburton2
shao_khan
Firstly welcome to the forum and congrats on the good car it sounds liek you are inheriting the problems from. i am not aware of any other suffering this problem - you could ask also on the clublupo.co.uk forum, but I am not aware of having seen this issue - and certianly did not present itself on mine. Cannot remember position of switch - sorry. I am sure if Twisty or Crusoe read this they may be able to check for you
spudgun
Apparently if you always put screenwash in when you refill the reservoir, the pipe doesn't rot and fall off
Crusoe
It suddenly seems to be a more common problem with a few instances reported on clublupo, I've answered as best I can on there though the bursting of the pipe could be down to not enough anti-freeze compound in the screen wash with the start of the cold weather. A Decent spray and cleaning of the lock and contacts with WD40 or equivalent should solve the problem though a thicker silicon grease on the lock itself is probably recommended.
